With nearly 26 years in the aviation industry, Rebecca has extensive experience across a wide range of aviation sub-fields. She understands general and business aviation, aircraft manufacturers, defense contractors, airports, flight schools, and regional and major airline carriers inside and out. The majority of her career has been spent marketing aviation products and services to high net-worth individuals and businesses.
Rebecca created CompassSwing in 2012 to assist aviation businesses and organizations in establishing direction in their marketing operations. Her clients include a leading aircraft manufacturer, an aviation-specific equipment provider, an international aviation association, a specialized flight school, a simulator flight training provider, and other aviation-focused marketing firms.
During her career, Rebecca has worked as the Director of Marketing for a top selling aircraft dealer and service center representing multiple aircraft manufacturers. In that role, she was responsible for creating product positioning messages related to the piston, turboprop, and VLJ product lines, identifying the appropriate marketing mix for the company’s divisions, integrating social media into the marketing mix, and evaluating market performance of both the marketing and sales departments.
She has also worked for a top-rated Fixed Base Operator (FBO) in a major metropolitan area as the Director of Business Development. Her responsibilities there included evaluating corporate growth opportunities, implementing new technology and managing all of the company's marketing initiatives, including not only the FBO’s services, but also the company's Part-135 charter operation, Part-145 repair station, avionics shop, aircraft management division, flight school, and Part 91(k) fractional ownership program.
Rebecca began her career with a major military defense contractor and received multiple awards for her leadership and teamwork during her tenure.
Rebecca’s interest in aviation extends beyond “work hours.” She was on the Board of Directors of a national non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging young people to pursue careers in the aviation industry for six years. She has been actively involved in speaking with school-aged children about the opportunities available in the aviation industry, spearheading fundraising activities to enable youth to pursue educational opportunities, and instructing teachers on how to incorporate aviation activities into their classrooms.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management (Magna Cum Laude) from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Management from Georgia Tech. At both Auburn and Georgia Tech, Rebecca was honored as the Outstanding Student in her degree field.
